TIPS & TRICKS

Automatic coverage

When you are roaming, make sure that you switch your handset to “automatic network selection mode” to save handset battery and enjoy better network coverage.

Safeguard your IOTs
If you are using IOT mark-up for retail roaming rates, an IOT check mechanism will assure your roaming revenue and minimise customer complaints. To see how implementing IOT checks can help your business, click here.

Get Technical
Are you using the latest Technology Neutral Agreement?  It eliminates the need of a GPRS and 3G service addendum.

DID YOU KNOW?

Get clued up on SMS
Are you aware that some operators require AA19 for SMS Inter-working and you may consider using a SMS aggregator to avoid this problem.  They would also facilitate SMSI with non GSM operators. To read about MACH’s SMS Solution, click here.

BARG Fan Club
BARG is the most popular event for Roaming Managers to attend.  Not only does it provide the latest GSMA updates but also a lot of roaming agreements and business can be achieved during the Roamfest.

MACH recently sponsored one of the events at BARG#70 in New Delhi, India and organised a highly successful and enjoyable client tour to the Taj Mahal.

RAEX + IOT Rates
There are more than 500 fields of information in a typical AA14.  With the upcoming RAEX where roaming partners are obliged to send electronic AA14 from July 2008, with the right tool you will be able to manage this massive database of information electronically, in particular the I.3.1. IOT information.

If you are using IOT mark-up for your retail roaming rates, the RAEX will save you significant time in working out the retail rate for your customers.

APAC’s bright mobile SMS future
Asia-Pacific is still one of the few surviving high-growth mobile markets at a time when the cellular industry is fast approaching saturation globally.

The SMS “Champion” however is the Philippines; counting monthly SMS traffic of more than 800 messages per customer.
